My Work
Annie McMullen
I am a senior student dedicated to the art of narrative exploration and the power of the written word. Going in to my Senior Project, my goal was to obtain the experience of what it is truly like to be a journalist. I explored how different stories and branches of journalism will take on various story formats, and created three articles as an accumulation of my work: an opinion piece, a review, and a feature story. My interests span across entertainment journalism, literature, critical media, history, and much more. Since I was a child, I've had a keen interest in the arts. I was obsessed with seeing musicals at Bass Concert Hall, I'd constantly mix and match clothes in my fashion notebook, and I sang in the shower pretty frequently. As I came to realize, I have a passion for participating in the arts by analyzing and synthesizing different artwork, not by making it itself. My paper topics were carefully crafted with this idea in mind: an analysis of the journalism industry over 48 years, an opinion piece on 2026 media trends and how they impact artists, and a review of a Broadway show.
